Desperate Mommies:
- General Characteristics – She needs some help, now. Most women in her position Woman-Up and deal, but Desperate Mommy is in full blown panic mode. She’s struggling with her finances and her child. Typically she has one child, possibly two. Women with two or more children seem to be more efficient in their mothering. “Efficient” does not always mean “better”, but it does mean that she’s learned to distinguish critical tasks from mundane ones. Desperate Mommies have not, and she’s smart enough to know that her child is missing out because of her situation. She’s all about her child and desperately wants a daddy for him or her. (Note: Most single mothers have their “ish” together, and adjust to the situation, but Desperate Mommies are the ones who’ve pinned everything on finding a new dad, rather than looking to themselves).
- Found in – Professional events, Church (she visits a lot of different ones), Home Improvement stores.
- Relations after Marriage – Good, as long as there are no money issues. Remember, she tends to panic. And she’s not real interested in having more children right away.
- Fidelity – Very good the first few years, leveling out to average.
- Finances – Horrible & future prospects are not good either.
- Chances – If you’re financially stable, great.
- Future prospects – Because of her determination, she has a reasonable chance to find “a man”, but her desperation may expose her to some real toads (although, she will argue, toad’s with a paycheck). Sadly, she may settle for anyone that can keep her and her child housed and fed, even Mean Guy.
